MAKURDI—De United Food Industries, makers of Indomie Noodles, has donated 500 cartons of its product to victims of the recent flood disaster in Benue State.
While presenting the relief materials at the internally-displaced persons, IDPs, camp situated at the Makurdi International Market, De United’s East Regional Area Marketing Manager, Mr. Abdulrasak Lawal, said the gesture was intended to assist the government meet food needs of the victims.
He said: “We are here courtesy of De United Food Industries Limited, makers of Indomie Noodles, to donate 500 cartons of our product as our own humanitarian assistance to the victims and persons affected by the flood that swept through the state recently.
“On behalf of the management of our organisation, we want to pray the Almighty God to avert the recurrence of this type of disaster in Benue State and, indeed, in any other part of the country.”
Also speaking, the Area Marketing Manager for Benue State, Mr. Humphrey Okoro, said: “This is our organisation’s little way of sharing in the pains of the people of Benue State, with who we have continually shared great and wonderful business experiences.”
The Executive Secretary of Benue State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Mr. Boniface Ortese, received the materials on behalf of the government.
