Former SON Boss, Reveals Why He Want To Become Benue Governor

A former acting Director General of Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Dr. Paul Angya, has said his decision to join the Benue State governorship race for 2019 was propelled by the extreme bad governance currently wreaking the ‘food basket’ state.

Angya who made the remark in Makurdi at the weekend in an interview, lamented that there were total collapse of things presently such that the state could be best said to be at the rung of the ladder.

He said if elected as governor of the state under the platform of Labour Party (LP) where he pitches his tent, his administration would change things for the betterment of the Benue people.

The former SON boss argued that the sing-song about dwindling resources was only a farce as he rhetorically wondered why individual politicians in the state government employ were thriving in the face of the alleged scarcity of money at the expense of unpaid workers salaries.

Angya stressed that when voted into power, he would digitalise revenue collection for optimal value, harness the potential in agriculture and the cultural tourism which Benue possesses in abundance to develop the state’s economy.
